Myrtle Sarrosa on how she falls in love: ‘Magastos ako sa kanila!’

Being part of the barkada film Ang Henerasyong Sumuko Sa Love, Myrtle Sarrosa said she feels lucky to get the part of Albie Casino’s college sweetheart Junamae in the Regal Films project. “Nung nag-audition kami almost two years ago, sobrang daming artists from all stations yung pumunta para mag-audition. Honored ako na nabigyan ako ng opportunity. Kami dito yun couple sa barkada pero iba yung paningin namin sa pag-ibig. Yung character ni Albie sobrang romantic siya tapos yung character ko naman medyo parang realistic and jaded na siya when it comes to love. So parang para sa kanya bakit pa magkakaroon ng label kung eventually maghihiwalay din kami… unti unting naiiba yung perception sa love dahil sometimes love isn’t like dramas, hindi siya laging happy ending. So I guess that’s what Junamae sees in love,” she shared. Unlike her character Junamae, Myrtle saidshe goes all out for love. “Pag may pag-ibig kasi, pag may tao tapos alam kong may kailangan, magastos ako sa kanila. So yung pinaka-crazy na ginawa ko para sa isang tao was yung app niya sa isang mobile game, lahat ng mga gamit binili ko para sa kanya sobrang mahal nun pag alam niyo yun (laughs). Ngayon pinagsisisihan ko na. Dapat pala sa character ko na lang ginastos ko kung alam mo pa lang hindi kayo magkakatuluyan. Sayang yung skin, sayang yung items. Sana sa akin na lang. Gamer siya. Dapat akin na lang pala yung gamit na yun. Ngayon pinagsisisihan ko na,” she said.Having to play the part of live-in partners, Myrtle revealed her experience preparing for her bed scenes. “First time ko kasi na parang love scene. May mga previous shows na ako pero parang hindi ko gusto na mga bed scenes. Dito there’s intimacy, there’s love pero at the same time dapat playful na millennials. Buti naman mga two takes lang kami (laughs),” she added.Unlike her jaded character, Myrtle said she has not given up on love yet. “May mga times na ako sumuko sa love. Kasi pag in a relationship may mga times na both sides are not happy or nakikita mo na hindi na kayo makakatulong sa isa’t isa in the future. Sometimes you have to get out. Para sa akin, it’s important to give a proper balance sa lahat ng people in your life. Kailangan may pagmamahal ka sa sarili mo, may pagmamahal ka sa pamilya mo. If you have a significant other give the same love to them. Pero always have some love din for yourself. This film is all about millennials eh.
