The Heiress, Regal Films’s new horror offering starring Maricel Soriano and Janella Salvador, has failed to make it to the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), director Frasco Mortiz said on Monday.
“The bad news: Hindi kami nakapasok sa MMFF. The good news: The Heiress will be shown on November 27!” wrote Mortiz of his latest film on Twitter.

His announcement came in time for the release of the official lineup for the 2019 MMFF, which will include a total of eight entries, namely, The Mall, The Merrier, Mindanao, Miracle In Cell No. 7, 3Pol Trobol Huli Ka Balbon, Sunod, Culion, Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity, and Write About Love.
The Heiress centers on the story of Luna (Maricel), a mambabarang or a powerful demon sorceress, who will stop at nothing to keep to herself her young niece, Guila (Janella).
The film also stars Sunshine Cruz and McCoy de Leon.
