‘Mga Mata sa Dilim’ star Jessy Mendiola only has good things to say about her leading man Derek Ramsay.
“Kung mapapanood ninyo ‘yung pelikula, makikita ninyo na maraming intimate scenes. Maraming mga mapangahas na eksena,” revealed Jessy Mendiola about her new iWant movie, Mga Mata sa Dilim.
Derek Ramsay, her leading man in the movie, played a big part in making her feel at ease. “Si Derek, very gentleman siya. Tinulungan niya akong maging comfortable sa mga eksena.
“Sobrang close na namin, kasi lahat ng pawis napunta na sa akin,” she shared with a laugh.
Jessy and Derek play the lead roles in Mga Mata sa Dilim, a digital movie based on a Precious Hearts novel of the same title. Joko Diaz plays the role of villain with a dark heart. “Kuwento siya ng isang babae who is trying to find real love, tapos she got caught in the dark side,” said director Enzo Williams.
Direk Enzo has worked with Jessy before. They would see each other daily while the movie was being made since they were both working on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano at the time. “I really had fun with Direk,” said Jessy. “Siya ‘yung type ng director na hindi lang siya sa isang pelikula titigil with you. Kung gusto ka pa niyang makatrabaho ulit, mag-iisip siya ng roles for you, stories for you. Thankful ako na naisip ni Direk na makatrabaho ulit ako.”
On his part, Direk Enzo had nothing but praises for the professionalism of his actors. “Actually, there was very minimal direction, kasi ang galing nila. I’m very thankful na tinanggap nila ‘yung project. It’s not really a big-budgeted project, kaya I’m happy that they took it.”
In this action-thriller, Jessy plays Sui, a woman kept on an island by her boyfriend Juancho (played by Joko Diaz), who also happens to be the ruthless head of a drug cartel. Meanwhile, Derek plays her so-called knight in shining armor, a tough undercover cop who fights for both justice and love. Mga Mata sa Dilim is produced by Cinebro, and is now streaming on iWant.
