Vice Ganda once again made fun of the supposed tiff between the all-girl group GirlTrends and former member Dawn Chang during the Wednesday episode of ‘It’s Showtime’.
A day prior, Vice Ganda teased Dawn over her remark about prioritizing technique over “aura” when it comes to dancing as it came off, at least to him, as a “shade” at GirlTrends, whose botched choreography to Sam Smith’s How Do You Sleep recently spawned memes about lacking synchronization.
“I can see the technique is there. Gustung-gusto ko ‘yon, kasi ang pagsasayaw, hindi lang puro hataw. Kailangan may technique. Hindi tayo puwedeng puro aura,” Dawn, who returned to the program this week as a guest judge, told Powered Iox, one of the competing dance groups.
Vice interjected and, in jest, said: “GirlTrends, pinariringgan kayo! Hindi pa tapos sa inyo si Dawn Chang.”
After their playful exchange made waves online, Chie Filomeno, one of the more popular members of GirlTrends, posted on Instagram a video of her rehearsing in a dance studio and wrote, as an apparent jab to Dawn, “All set. Don’t let people stop you from doing what you love most. Do what you need to do to make you happy. EEEH EEEEH EEEEEE MO LANG SILA. Hahaha char!”
On Wednesday, after Dawn commented on a SexBomb-inspired group composed of young dancers that they should relish their moment onstage, Vice teased her yet again, stating: “Tama kasi ‘yung sinabi ni Dawn Chang. Ibibigay niyo ang lahat. All-out, dance nang dance. Makinig kayo kay Dawn Chang.”
“Ano kaya ang comment ng GirlTrends mamaya sa mga sinasabi? Abangan natin kung may sasagot sa Instagram!” he added, much to the amusement of Dawn.
It was in late August when Dawn confirmed that she is no longer with GirlTrends after more than three years of being part of the group, citing differences from thee other members as a huge factor in her decision to quit.
