Albie Casiño plays a hopeless romantic in the millennial film ‘Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love.’
For his first big screen project this year, Albie Casiño said he had a lot of fun playing Myrtle Sarrosa’s live-in partner Hadji in Regal Film’s Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love which has him working again with his Bakwit Boys director Jason Paul Laxamana. “It was very fun working with direk JP. I had a lot of fun with him doing all of our projects together. I think swak naman ako sa role. Dun sa scenes namin ni Myrtle, there’s not much to prepare for (laughs). Hindi naman siya mahirap gawin para sa akin,” he said.
Albie said he is proud of their project that shows the complexities and challenges of being a millennial especially those who are part of the LGBTQ community. “Personally I really don’t care about other people understanding our generation because wala namang bearing sa amin yun eh. With the gay relationships being open now, I think it’s about time. Why would someone have to hide their sexuality, why should someone have to hide who they’re dating? I think it’s stupid. We shouldn’t limit other people, we should tell other people what to do with their lives if they’re not hurting anybody else,” he explained.
Unlike his character Hadji, Albie said he is not as careless when it comes to love. “Ako kasi pinapantay ko sa tao, natatantya mo naman kung ano nabibigay ng kasintahan ko, so kung 10% lang siya 10% ka lang din. May pagka-romantic din naman ako in real life pero siguro yung gestures lang. Pero hindi pa naman ako sumusuko sa love. Masyadong masarap magmahal,” he said.
Currently in a relationship with recent Miss World Philippines contestant Michelle Arceo, Albie said he has had his share of falling madly in love. “Marami akong ginagawa. Alam niyo yan. The craziest thing I’ve done for love is nawawala ako sa sarili ko pag mahal ko yung tao,” he added.
