As she officially starts her reign as Miss Universe this year, Catriona Gray recently made guest appearances on Good Morning America and Live with Kelly and Ryan where she received praises from hosts Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa. During her interviews, Catriona shared her passion for advocating children’s education, as well as her love for music, and her mother’s prophetic dream of her being crowned in a red grown during her interview. “I really believe that education is transformative. It’s something that you can give to a child or to a person that can never be taken away from them, which is why I’m so passionate about it,” she told Ryan and Kelly.
The statuesque beauty queen also shared how she celebrated her 25th birthday last January 6. She admitted she had fun celebrating all week by watching Broadway plays and by going on a food trip. Catriona also talked about her diverse background which included moving to the Philippines as a teenager after being born and raised in Australia. Her father, Ian Gray, is a Scottish immigrant to Australia while her mother, Normita Magnayon, is Filipino.
Catriona also said that ever since moving to New York city this week, she has had to wear at least three layers of clothing whenever she goes out just to adjust to the winter weather. “So I’m looking a bit like a siopao when I go out. I’m really fluffy looking but as long as I’m warm it’s all good! (laughs) I love it. I grew up in a one climate kind of setting. So in the Philippines and in Australia where I grew up it’s been one season. It’s been amazing,” she shared.
