Early this week, Rufa Mae Quinto warned her followers of a possible scam after recently having her e-mail and Instagram accounts stolen by an unknown hacker.

From “rufamaequinto”, the intruder changed her username to “girlprobszzs”, as well as replaced her profile picture with an animated character.

Then, the hacker again changed her username to “animalloverssz”, perhaps to avoid getting caught as Rufa was made aware of the hack.

“Na-hack na account ko sa Instagram and e-mail account ko. Hindi ako yun, kung sakaling makatanggap kayo [ng] message from my IG account,” said Rufa in a tweet dated January 2.

The comedienne also asked her followers to block and report her hacked account, which had a follower count of over 800,000.

With this, Rufa just recently made a new temporary account—going with the username rufamaemagallanes—still in the hopes that she gets to retrieve her old one.
