Alex Diaz also shared the exchanged of conversation between Tony and his manager about rumors circulating that he is in an intimate relationship with the 'Glorious' actor.
Tony Labrusca, who recently issued a public apology after getting into hot water following a fiery encounter with an Immigration Officer at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), got some support from fellow Kapamilya celebrity Alex Diaz.
Diaz, who was with Labrusca throughout the entire incident, shared his side of the story in a series of tweets accompanied by photos of himself and the latter doing bungee jumping during their vacation.
Alex ended his tweet by defending Tony whose reaction over the incident he believes is part of human nature.
“I was also at immigration and saw the whole thing go down. So trust me when I say kudos to you homie for rising above it. @tonythesharky wasn’t the only one at fault, but he was made to look like the bad guy when both sides had faults. Proud of you homie. PS bungee jumping was epic,” he wrote.
Diaz went on to recount the series of events that happened at immigration.
“Nobody mentioned the fact that while Tony was supposed to be having a private conversation with the Superior IO, 3 IO’s came into the office and approached me on the couch trying to fish for information as to what was happening. I don’t think that’s their job or that the superior IO repeatedly told them to leave the office or that I was also met with a not so friendly IO at immigration leaving the country who saw my Canadian passport and said, ‘Oh anong gusto mong gawin ko dito?’ in a sarcastic tone until I pulled up my Filipino passport. Immigration isn’t [sun emoji] and [bouquet of flowers emoji] by any stretch of the imagination,” he stated.
Alex ended his tweet by defending Tony whose reaction over the incident he believes is just human nature.
“Everyone is human and capable of mistakes even Tony who got heated and these I.O.’s who claimed not to know who he was at all but proceeded to blast him on social media right off the bat. Sana we hunt for both sides always before passing judgment, slandering or defaming people,” he concluded.
The 24-year-old Scottish-Filipino actor also took the opportunity to dismiss rumors that he and Tony Labrusca are dating, clearing things out by retweeting a screenshot of messages in a group chat which included Tony, his manager, and some other people.
“What’s wrong with Alex being with me on the immigration? Just because we’re in the same flight we’re together na? That’s so low. Why can’t people see the truth that we’re just friends and his tita made sure we got to the same flight para may kasama kami pauwi,” Tony wrote in the thread.
“That’s showbiz talaga. Typical issues you should expect—sexuality, married/have kids, or you have a sugar dad. Check ka na sa isa, expect the rest as you stay longer in the business,” Labrusca’s manager responded.
Tony, an American citizen, was only granted a 30-day stay in the Philippines by the Bureau of Immigration upon his arrival in the country.
In his public apology, he wrote: “It was a long flight from Canada and while it is not a perfect excuse, I would like to start this year fresh both in my life and the people I’ve encountered. Once again, I am deeply sorry for my reaction.”
