The seasoned actress has admitted to having arachnophobia, or fear of spiders, for the longest time until she finally had the guts to get in contact with a tarantula while in a vacation in Sweden.
Jodi Sta. Maria’s first accomplishment for 2019 is getting over one of her biggest fears in life – spiders.
Unbeknownst to many fans, the seasoned actress has recently revealed that she is arachnophobic, or the state of having an extreme and often irrational fear of spiders, all her life. That is, until this holiday season when she set off to Sweden to tick off another thing in her bucket list by getting into contact with, among all other species, a tarantula.
In an Instagram post last Thursday, Jodi was spotted all-smiles as she showed off her first successful encounter with a spider.
“Such an important day in my life. Today, I was able to conquer my greatest fear: spiders. For those of you who don’t know, I have been arachnophobic all my life,” she said.
The celebrity mom also took to her Instagram stories to document the whole thing. Heard in the background was the voice of her unico hijo Thirdy Lacson who willingly urged and cheered for her mother as she was petting the tarantula.
“I have learned that courage isn’t the absence of fear, but it is facing and confronting it even when you are most afraid,” she wrote.
