Markus Paterson looks forward to working again in the new Mikhail Red thriller ‘Dead Kids’.
After getting into a motorcycle accident last year, Markus Peterson said he is doing very well with his daily rehabilitation sessions and is now ready to work again after finding out he made the cast of the new Mikhail Red-film Dead Kids under Globe Studios. “Ako dito yung alpha jock, si Chuck Santos. I don’t really relate to the role because I never was the alpha jock. In high school I was the little Asian kid in the back of the class every time. I know I look white here in this country but trust me I’m super Asian in the U.K. I’m really looking forward to portraying this alpha jock role because it’s a challenge and it’s exciting,” he shared during the Dead Kids press conference in Quezon City.
Markus admitted he did not expect to be handpicked for the role (along with Sue Ramirez) after director Red saw their work in Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi. “Of course it’s really flattering. It’s a blessing honestly. I can’t hank anyone enough other than direk Mik and the other people that were part of the whole casting process because it feels really good,” he said.
The 20-year-old Star Magic talent said he looks forward to welcoming all kinds of roles starting this year. “I really enjoy playing bad people. I don’t like being pegged as bad but the character here I’ll really enjoy portraying the anti-hero, that kind of guy. It’s really fun,” he said.
Although he has gotten clearance to start working again, Markus said it will take a while before he will be fit enough to do sports again. “I really miss playing football. Because I’m not going to be able to play for siguro over a year. I need to strengthen my muscles, the implant, the metal, everything has to be really well worked so medyo matagal pa talaga yun eh but it’s okay,” he added.
