Local band Agsunta is officially “signing off,” its four members Jireh Singson, Mikel Arevalo, Josh Planas, and Stephen Arevalo announced on social media last Wednesday.

Known for doing song covers on YouTube, the band shocked thousands of fans following their new upload titled “Agsunta, Signing Off”, explaining why they took down all their previous videos on the site.

“Masakit man, at mahirap man, kailangan na muna naming itigil ‘to,” said Agsunta vocalist Jireh. “It was four years of solid OPM, ilang taon na pagsasama at pagpapadama sa inyo ng pagmamahal naming apat. Walang pagsisisi kasi mahal namin kayo.”

While it is unclear whether Agsunta is disbanding or simply taking a hiatus from social media, the four members gave a word to their supporters that they aren’t to stop from playing music.

Wala ang Agsunta kung wala ang isa sa inyo na nanonood at nakikinig at nagtiwala sa amin. Muli, mula sa Agsunta, ‘di naman ‘to good bye. Magkikita kita pa tayo,” said Jireh. “Isa lang ang pangako namin. Patuloy kaming gagawa ng musika para sa inyo.”
