EXCLUSIVE: Sue Ramirez admits she accepted new role because of director Mikhail Red

Apart from doing the Korean-Filipino film project Sunshine Family, Sue Ramirez said she is also excited to start work on the upcoming millennial movie Dead Kids with director Mikhail Red under Globe Studios. At the start of the year, Sue said her resolutions are to try new things. “Parang gusto lang yung mag-improve lang sa mga bagay na alam ko na and learn something new. Kumbaga hangga’t kaya kong matuto ng something new like recently nag-try ako mag-watercolor painting so ayun may bago na naman akong pinasok, may bago na naman akong na-try. Gusto ko lang this year na mas mag-explore pa sa mga kung anong kaya kong gawin and kung ano pang puwede ko i-improve sa sarili ko or kung ano pang kaya kong i-offer, parang ganun,” she told PUSH.

After being handpicked for her role, Sue explained why she accepted it immediately. “I was surprised and siyempre, kahit ano namang job opportunity… ako tanggap talaga ako ng tanggap ng trabaho. Pero si direk Mikhail is kind of one of the major factors talaga kung bakit tinanggap ko yung film kasi nga siya yung director. I know na magaling siya eh and gusto ko din siyang maka-work talaga. Nalaman ko rin na medyo puro teens kami dito so it’s another working experience for me para mga bago ulit katrabaho ko,” she shared.

Her character Janina is a role model in school. “Siya yung medyo iba sa kanilang lahat. Siya yung medyo hindi sumusunod doon sa norm ng mga millennials. Parang kumbaga siya yung epitome at dapat sundan ng mga kabataan. Parang siya yung pinaka role model ng mga teenagers sa panahon ngayon kasi siya yung parang may pinakamalinis na character. Ang dami kasing script eh, ang daming draft. Maganda siya eh. Medyo based on a true story siya so exciting siyang gawin kasi mapapakapit talaga sila sa upuan nila habang nanunuod sila ng movie,” she explained.

All set to leave the country in February for another project, Sue looks forward to working with Dead Kids co-stars Khalil Ramos, Markus Paterson, Vance Larena, and director Mikhail Red when she gets back. “Pagdating na pagdating ko dito ulit ng mga March gagawin ko na itong Dead Kids. Excited ako kasi ang daming pumapasok na mga movies for me this year and iba iba yung mga roles na kailangan kong gawin so bilang artista kasi parang magandang bagay siya for us na may mga projects na dumadating sa amin kasi kumbaga tiwala yun sa amin nung mga tao. Parang sobrang thankful ako and sobrang blessed ng pakiramdam ko kasi after nung mga nagawa ko in the past few years pinagkakatiwalaan pa rin ako ng mga tao na gawin yung mga projects for them,” she said.
