Nicole Cordoves talks about her exciting goals for the year after joining Cornerstone.
After signing up with Cornerstone Entertainment this month, beauty queen Nicole Cordoves said she is excited with what 2019 holds for her career. “My resolution is probably going to go big with my dreams so I already signed up with Cornerstone as of yesterday because I need extra hands already. I managed myself the last two years when I was with [It’s] Showtime so I’m really looking forward to all my projects like writing my book and also setting up my own channel on YouTube,” she shared during the Netflix LG Kingdom series advance screening held last January 24 in Taguig City.
Even with her new management, Nicole said she is still not considering going into acting. “Actually I discussed it with (Cornerstone head) Erickson Raymundo and parang I’m sticking to my brand talaga as a public speaker and sana within the realm of yung news naman. I’m going to try and delve into that,” she said. Nicole admitted that she was not always naturally composed and confident. “I’m sure it’s the beauty queen training (laughs). Even when you’re asked the hardest questions, you have to seem like you sound right and confident. But at the same time I’m really not serious at all. If you ask all my beki friends especially dun sa wardrobe sa [It’s] Showtime, kalog ako sobra,” she explained.
After being part of It’s Showtime, Nicole said she has learned a lot of things from her experience in the noontime variety show. “It was very good because you don’t play a role there. You’re really just yourself and then I was so surprised to find out that there are a lot of netizens who are so eager to learn and are already so ready to accept or listen to mga opinions na mas out of the box, ganun. So na-e-excite din sila with that. Kasi ‘di ba they always say na it’s masa, pero all the viewers are so highly educated and they have their own opinions that we could actually have this whole discourse between us. Kasi una parang siyempre gusto nila i-limit yung English, mas Tagalog, pero mas na-appreciate nila kung may new vocabulary ka rin na ituturo sa kanila,” she explained.
Out of all the celebrities she has met, Nicole admitted she still gets star struck every time she sees one of the It’s Showtime hosts. “Yes kay Anne Curtis, everyday. Ang ganda ganda niya sobra and she has this whole lifestyle tied together na I’m sure I cannot do at this point (laughs). Have you seen her work out every morning? Hindi ko kaya yung commitment for now. Parang she’e everything that I want to be when I grow up to be hopefully a fine lady,” she shared.
