Piolo Pascual is one proud dad to his son Inigo after mounting a successful benefit show for a leukemia fan named Arnie Espina.
With over 200 fans singing and dancing throughout the show in attendance, Piolo Pascual couldn’t be any happier to have raised a song like with a good heart.
“I’m so happy that he has a good heart and that he’s using his influence as a celebrity to be able to raise funds from his fans. It’s a noble thing to do. You know, not a lot of people would have this as an idea and his friends also from his different shows. It’s nice because there are a lot of people and everyone’s just having fun. You know, to be able to do something like this - I was just telling him, people have a good heart,” he said.
Asked how he keeps his son grounded despite the fame, he answered: “That’s he’s nature. Whatever he’s doing, that’s his choice. I mean, he’s 21 and that’s not something I always have to tell him to do, you know? Putting up something like this, this was his idea. So I don’t have to tell him what to do or be grounded. I’m happy about his heart, how he is with other people, how he is as a person. So there are things I just don’t really have to tell him.”
Piolo Pascual also gave his reaction to the possibility that Inigo would write a song for Regine Velasquez, adding that his son is flying to the US next week to “further his singing skills.”
“A lot of people have been telling me how talented my son is - like he’s a good musician. So I’m just really happy that he’s able to collaborate with a lot of artists as well. He’s steadily growing as a musician. And to be given that kind of break, like a Regine Velasquez, it’s a good training ground for him. And he’s bound for the States next week to further his singing skills,” he said.
Piolo, who asked Inigo to add his name to the show’s promotional poster on the same day, also performed at the show which included a dance number of the latter’s hit “Dahil Sa’Yo.”
