On meeting his younger sibling Apey at long last, Star Dreamer Mark Obera said, “Masayang masaya po ako. Sa wakas, nakilala ko yung kapatid ko. Nakita ko, makakabawi ako sa kanya.”
Tears flowed during Apey Obera’s reunion with her half-brother Mark Obera in last Friday’s episode of ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Otso’.
After having succeeded on her task to amuse a group of strangers, the 23-year-old housemate was given a key to a room designed to emulate hers during her solitary life after running away from her mother. Unbeknownst to Opey was that a bigger surprise awaits her inside: her half-sibling whom she has longed to meet for many years now.
During their talk, Mark informed Opey that, contary to her fears, their father is, in fact, still alive and well. Though they have yet to meet again, Opey said that she harbors no ill feelings towards her parent whatsoever in spite of everything that’s happened.
“Ikamusta mo ‘ko kay Papa. Sabihin mo, ang ganda ganda kong anak. Sabihin mo, wala akong hinanakit sa kanya. Sabihin mo, kaya napunta ako sa ganitong buhay, kaya nagpurisge ako, dahil naging isa siya sa mga naging inspirasyon [ko], kayo. Kayo lahat,” an emotional Apey said to her brother.
Of their tear-jerking reunion, Mark, who is one of the newer batch of the Star Dreamers, said, ”Masayang masaya po ako. Sa wakas, nakilala ko yung kapatid ko. Nakita ko, makakabawi ako sa kanya.”
