Of her experience making a new film with McCoy de Leon, Elisse Joson admits having mixed emotions.
Having gone through a rough patch prior to shooting their new film, Sakaling Maging Tayo, one can only imagine how hard it was for Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon to set aside their differences and still carry on with the project as planned.
But if we’re to ask the love team—paired together as McLisse—it is through this very situation that they were able to give their respective characters in the movie, Pol and Laya, justice. While both could attest that it didn’t go as smooth as expected, McCoy said that looking back on their happy memories definitely helped him channel the emotions needed for his role.
Kaya siguro tuwing tumatawa ako o kinikilig ako sa character niya, nagiging natural,” he said during a press conference for Sakaling Maging Tayo this Thursday, January 17.
That the film making an impact on their relationship is not lost on McCoy, who in his interview admitted that both he and Elisse had settled to finish the project.
Lalo naming pinahalagahan yung trabaho,” he added.
Now that they have fully come to terms with the split of McLisse, Elisse confessed that the underlying fear of losing the support of their fans will always be present.
“Of course. But, at the end of the day, you’d also want to believe in yourself. Kailangan mong isipin na you’ll make it.
McCoy, on the other hand, said that he will just continue pursuing his passion regardless.
Sakaling Maging Tayo, which marks the theatrical return of filmmaker JP Habac under Black Sheep, was a success during its star-studded premiere night last Tuesday, January 15. In attendance were co-stars Milo Elmido, Jr, Paulo Angeles, and Chai Fonacier, together with guests Maja Salvador, Vivoree Esclito, CK Kieron, Yong Muhajil, Ylona Garcia, and Pooh, among others.
