The Broadway singer is in Hokkaido, Japan for an anniversary getaway with her husband.
Lea Salonga took to social media to announce that she got injured during her ski trip in Hokkaido, Japan. In an Instagram post, the singer revealed that she broke her bones because of the incident.
"I am making this video from the beautiful Hokkaido in Japan where my family and I are having a fun ski vacation. Now I am making this video just to let you know that I am taking a couple of extra items in my luggage namely a pair of crutches. I broke my leg on a slope. Clearly I have not earned the art of stopping. I crushed really hard and I broke my tibia," she stated.
The tibia is one of two bones in the lower leg and is the second largest bone in the body.
Despite her injury, Lea stressed that her upcoming shows will still push through. "But that doesn’t mean that the concert aren’t pushing through. This is just to let you know that I am okay, I can sing and I will see you in Hong Kong, Singapore and in the UK sitting down more than normally I would, but I just thought of letting you know what was happening," she stated.
Lea’s Japan vacation is in time for her wedding anniversary with husband Robert Charles Chien. Recently, the Broadway singer wrote a sweet post for Robert on Instagram, thanking him for their anniversary getaway. "Happy Anniversary to the man that takes me on adventures I’ve never been on!!! Thanks for this holiday, Hon!!! Love you!!! #15andCounting," she posted.
