Netizens expressed their concern after Loisa Andalio posted a cryptic tweet about the autoimmune disease.
Loisa Andalio put Twitterverse abuzz after tweeting about an autoimmune disease called alopecia areata or the condition where "the hair comes out, often in clumps the size and shape of a quarter" as defined by medical website WebMD.
Loisa, who tweeted the definition of alopecia sourced from Wikipedia, wrote: "Alopecia, also known as spot baldness, is a condition in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body. Often it results in a few bald spots on the scalp, each about the size of a coin. Psychological stress may result. People are generally otherwise healthy."
The 19-year-old Kapamilya actress' tweet then alarmed her fans, prompting them to express their concern and extend help such as advice on what to eat and things to avoid like stressing herself out.
"Alopecia is an autoimmune disease. In my case, my immune system attacked my healthy cells sa left knee. In Alopecia patient's case, hair follicles are attacked kaya nagkaka-hair loss or spot baldness. If one has an auto immune disease, live a healthy lifestyle. Avoid stress," Twitter user @ISAY_loiyal wrote.
The fan then went on: "Avoid toxic people or environment. Eat healthy foods. Seek help from doctors/specialists. Undergo therapy. Do not self-medicate. Do not always trust GOOGLE posts about certain medications. And of course, PRAY. It helps."
Another netizen with user handle @Drogoluvsbubwit also wrote: "Lagi ka kasing stressed bebe. Tapos mahina siguro immune system mo kaya sakitin ka. Wag ka kasing masyadong magpupuyat. Pag walang ganap itulog na lang."
But one fan, who seemed to have noticed that the former PBB housemate doesn't change hairstyle and hair color often, had a theory that alopecia could be the reason why she's keeping her hair that way.
"Kaya ba hindi ka pa kamo pwede magiba hairstyle at magpakulay ng buhok? Health is wealth, love. Grab mo every chance na makakapagpahinga ka. Pag wala ganap magpahinga agad. Wag na masyado magpuyat sa ML. Not sure pero nagkaspot baldness na rin si meme vice," user @singKEEITH wrote.
Loisa Andalio is set to appear in Angel Locsin's highly-anticipated comeback serye The General's Daughter alongside love team and off-screen partner Ronnie Alonte.
