Saab Magalona says she has not said goodbye to acting: ‘No, not forever’

After giving birth earlier this year, Saab Magalona is back in the limelight again this time as the host of Coke Studio Season Two: Homeoming which was officially launched last September 1 and bared a lineup of exceptional musical talents like IV of Spades, Ben & Ben, Moira Dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, Sam Concepcion, Juan Miguel Severo, Kriesha Tiu, Quest, and Khalil Ramos, among others. “I feel so awesome because I was part of the first season launch lang. Nag-launch kami ng season one and I hosted the launch but there was really no host for the first season. So for season two I’m just so happy I guess they were happy with my performance so they got me to host for season two and that means so much to me,” she told PUSH.

Apart from handling full-time mommy duties to her baby Pancho, Saab said she and her band The Cheats also have their hands full this year. “We have gigs lined up as usual and we’re working on our third album so it’s just great to be exposed to a lot of other artists here sa Coke Studio season two and getting to know bands more. Like we play with Ben & Ben, we have gigs with them but we never really get to hang out with them so I got to know them better here. And also artists that I’ve never played with before. So it’s been really fun,” she shared.

As a first time mom, Saab said that there have only been slight adjustments to her working schedule because of the baby. “I guess right now kasi baby pa yung baby ko so everything is kind of the same, I have earlier call times lang because I want to be home with my baby. I’m very clingy. This is actually my first time to be away from him for so long,” she said.

Having first started acting more than a decade ago, Saab said  showbiz has taken a backseat since she started her family but it does not mean she is ready to totally say goodbye to acting. “Oh definitely (laughs). No, it’s not forever. Never say never. But right now I’m focusing on hosting and also just being a mom and the band,” she added.

Coke Studio Philippines Season 2 will be featuring 14 local artists and will premiere on September 16, 11:15 am, on ABS-CBN.
