Vice Ganda took to Twitter to give his two cents about the proposal of changing the last line of the Philippine national anthem. Early this week, Senator Tito Sotto III proposed that the last lyrics of "Lupang Hinirang" be changed to, "Ang ipaglaban ang kalayaan mo.”
In his Twitter post, Vice wrote, "E kung palitan na lang yung last line ng national anthem ng ‘Ang matraffic ng dahil sa’yo’??!! Mas keri ba?"
The tweet has already received more than 46,000 likes and more than 6,000 retweets as of this writing.
Meanwhile, following the backlash he received from netizens after his proposal, Senator Sotto III tweeted that he is not forcing anyone to agree with him. "Maraming mahina intindimiento. Ayaw nyo? Hwag! But i will support Joey Ayala’s version of singing d Natnl Anthem. Tama pronunciation n intonation. D orig translation frm spanish to eng to Fil is d cause of d wrong cadence of words (sic)," the senator wrote.
