Actor Dingdong Dantes finally clarified the issue of plans for him to run for public office through the comment section of Ogie Diaz’s Facebook post on Monday, September 17.
After the submission of the youth-in-climate action campaign dubbed as #NowPH or Not On Our Watch Philippines in 2015, we envisioned to share our experience and engage our neighboring countries in our climate and disaster resilience cause. Yesterday, this dream became a reality through the #NowASEAN Conference, organized by the National Youth Commission, Climate Change Commission and the @YesPinoy Foundation with the support of UNICEF, USAID-BLEADERS Project and The Climate Reality Project. The commitment of our government and our institutional partners, the overwhelming support from the ASEAN Senior Officials on Youth, and the active participation of youth leaders from the 17 regions of the Philippines are proof that we are on the right track towards pushing for an ASEAN Youth in Climate Action and Disaster Resilience Day and the creation of the Southeast Asian Youth in Climate Action and Disaster Resilience Network (SAYCAN). @iamsuperph
Ogie, through his Facebook post ‘Mama Ogz Answers,’ recently discussed some political issues and one of them was about Dingdong’s plans to run for senator.
Ogie wrote, "Si Dingdong Dantes, tatakbong Senador, okay ba sa 'yo, Mama Ogs?"
--Oo naman. Sobra. Mas disente kesa sa Pepedederalismo.”
On the comment section, Ogie tagged the actor and expressed his support. However, Dingdong, using a personal Facebook account named Jose Sixto Gonzalez Dantes III replied, “Salamat sa tiwala, Ogie. Pero hindi po ako tatakbong Senador.”
Ogie replied, “Ay sad naman.”
Dingdong is active with his social works and advocacy. A few days ago, his wife Marian Rivera told the press that she will support the actor if ever he decides to run for senator.
In other news, Dingdong is one of the main cast of the upcoming Vice Ganda movie ‘Fantastica,’ which will be an entry to Metro Manila Film Festival 2018.
