After shooting with Alice Dixson in Europe for another movie slated for release next year, Aga Muhlach said he is excited for people to watch his film with Bea Alonzo which was shot in Vancouver, Canada. The Kapamilya actor said he personally handpicked Bea for the role. “I was right. Bea is kumbaga puwede mong sabihin na purist siya talaga. Artista siya. She loves her craft, she loves to act, she loves movies, and yun din ang hilig ko. So we worked together and it was just nice. She knew what to do. Ang galing niya. Kasi I would see her trailers sa movies and I was like, ‘Wow,’ sabi ko, ‘I would love to work with her.’ And then I called her one time out of the blue sabi ko, ‘Bea, I have this project. Would you want to do it?’ and she said yes and then the rest is history. It’s done and we’re showing it in October,” he shared.
Apart from acting, a lesser known fact about Aga is that he helps with the creative process in his movies as well but refuses to take any credit for it. “No I don’t ask for that anymore. All my past films. I started in the ‘90s. No more na (need for recognition). It’s okay. Parang sa akin lang, I’m an actor. I’ll leave it at that. I don’t write but I work with the writer, with the creative process. And even when it comes to promo and editing, music. Like in the late ‘90s and early 2000, until 2010, Gary (Valenciano) would do soundtracks before, theme songs. Lahat ng movies ko si Gary yun. Ako nag-start nun,” he explained.
After more than four decades in the industry, Aga said his fulfillment still lies in entertaining people more than his body of work on and behind the camera. “Ang importante lang, pag nanuod sila ng sine, happy sila. You know these people pay. When your audience goes out of their way to pay, that’s big for me,” he added.
