Piolo Pascual reveals real reason they had to re-cast Daniel Padilla and Carlo Aquino.
After the finale of Since I Found You, Piolo Pascual has dived straight into his new movie project about Marawi with Robin Padilla. “Gusto ko sana mag-break pero dire-diretso akong Marawi eh. So mahirap kasi first time kong gagawin yung ganung kalaking proyekto, not just as a producer but as an actor. I’ve been doing immersion on the side while I was doing the show pero babalik ako para sa mga events and then alis ulit ako for October, kasama ko naman yung anak ko sa States and Canada to do shows,” he shared.
Part of his training for the film includes training with the AFP and actual immersion in Marawi. “Training kami sa battle field, closed quarter battles (CQB), simulation, firing, tapos yung teamwork so dadalhin namin dun. Immersion din with a buddy na talagang soldier para full immersion on how to go into battle. So ayun. Kailangan eh,” he said. Piolo will be playing a soldier caught in the middle of the Marawi seige.
Piolo also explained why their initial casting plans which included Daniel Padilla and Carlo Aquino didn’t push through. “Carlo is doing a movie. I think hindi rin siyia nakapagpahinga since after St. Gallen dire-diretso na si Carlo. We wanted him for the role, even DJ, but we can’t wait for the actors because yung ground zero ni-re-rehab na so we really have to shoot already. So we have to do it with what we have and so far it’s working because sobra yung commitment ng lahat ng tao na wala kaming kailangan isipin. So it just fell into place I guess that my show was ending and I have to be in Marawi so makaka-focus kaming lahat,” he explained. The role intended for DJ is now being played by newcomer Mark Feliz while Carlo’s role went to Jess Mendoza.
