Gretchen Ho on turning down suitors: ‘I don’t like wasting time’

With a busy work schedule that starts with waking up at 3 am to start preparing for work on Umagang Kay Ganda, Gretchen Ho said she tries her best to get enough rest. “I try to balance everything as best as I can. So whenever I get the time to sleep, I sleep. So inside the car, inside the van, tatambay ako sa bahay ng kaibigan para makitulog (laughs), uuwi ako ung kaya para makapagpahinga and then after nun zoom to my next job. Siyempre hindi ko nakakalimutan yung time with friends,” she shared during the Celeteque Dermoscience line relaunch event held last August 29 in Pasay City.Although it’s been more than a year since her last relationship, Gretchen decided to focus more on her career. She dispelled recent rumors that Kris Aquino’s lawyer friend Gideon Pena has been wooing her. “Crush ba niya ako? Sino may sabi? Talaga? Hindi ko alam yun ah. We’re friends. He’s a good person. He’s very smart and I actually followed him on Twitter kasi I like his opinions eh. Parang I tend to follow smart people online para I get different perspectives. We just had dinner with friends once pero marami kami nun. Marami. With my cousin kasi friends siya ng cousin ko then with my best friend,” she explained.The Celeteque celebrity ambassador said she is single by choice even though she has had her own share of suitors. “Hindi pa ako nag-e-entertain pero I’m open naman to it. Marami lang din akong ibang iniisip right now. Prepared naman (for a relationship). I feel like it’s going to come when it’s going to come. I don’t want to force things. I’m open to dating. It’s just that I really have a crazy schedule. Meron kasi mga nag-ta-try pero hindi lahat ini-entertain natin. Pagka gusto eh, pagka hindi, hindi ko pinipilit kasi I don’t like wasting time dahil I’m really busy,” she said.Gretchen also took the time to explain why her recent post about feeling heartbroken was misunderstood as being connected to her past relationship. “Eh di kasi nagulat din ako dun sa nag-comment dun kasi tungkol talaga yun sa nangyari sa London (Gretchen’s belongings were stolen). Kaya nagulat ako na-link na naman doon. So I just had to reply para matapos na. Kasi minsan din parang pakiramdam ko kailangan mo din sumagot sa mga tao pagka may mga ganung comment dahil hindi naman all the time puwedeng tahimik lang tayo. So sinagot ko na para malaman nila o matapos na dahil it’s been more than a year since then,” she explained.In a recent interview with PUSH, the pretty TV host admits that she and former beau Robi Domingo have both moved on already. “Okay naman kami. Wala naman kaming samaan ng loob. Okay lang. Seeing him happy, gaya ng sabi ko, that’s all we want for each other at the end of the day,” she added.
