Nineteen-year-old American singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter is currently in Manila for a series of promotional shows for her new single "Almost Love" for which she decided to create a new version by collaborating with Gloc-9's protege and sought-after teen rapper Shanti Dope.
During a presscon held last August 23 at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, PUSH had the opportunity to ask the "Alien" hitmaker as to how her collaboration with the "Nadarang" artist—who rapped his verses in Filipino—came to be.
"A lot of incredible people introduced me to him and I think that he was so talented and he's so like fresh. I just heard him on the song and I think he sounded so amazing. And I don't have like any other remixes or versions of the song with a feature on it. I really, really love the idea of having a Filipino feature especially because it was least expected from my fans and the fact that I was coming here in a couple of weeks made me feel excited and give them something really special," she said.
Sabrina Carpenter will hold three shows around the Metro including one in Uptown Bonifacio Mall (August 24), another in Eastwood Mall Open Park (August 25), and at the Venice Grand Piazza (August 26).
Later this year, Sabrina Carpenter will also release her third studio album Singular.
