Lee O’Brian shares plans to expand their family in the future.
As part of this year’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino entry Signal Rock where he plays a special role, Lee O’Brien said he is happy to be busy this year. “This year I got more indie films coming out. I got a guesting role on a pretty big film too. And then I’m still doing my blog too with Mamang (Pokwang). We’re doing all the cooking. Poklee Cooking on YouTube,” he told PUSH during the Signal Rock celebrity screening held last August 15 in Quezon City.
After moving to Manila more than two years ago, Lee said his Tagalog has definitely improved but he’s still far from being fluent. “Okay lang. Hindi sobrang mabuti, hindi sobrang maganda pero araw-araw maraming practice, araw-araw maraming mas mabuti sa bagong araw (laughs),” he said.
With his baby daughter Malia gaining more and more fans on social media, Lee said he will not be the one to stop her if ever she decides to join showbiz someday. “I want to be there for her no matter what, to support her in everything. So I will definitely be a stage dad. Definitely I want her to pursue what she wants so if that is performing, more power to her. She’s got a great start to that. But beyond that, she’s got so many people that care about her and I’m just happy as a father that my daughter has that kind of support coming into this world,” he explained.
With his partner Pokwang turning 45 this month, Lee said he has taken that into consideration when it comes to plans for another baby in the future. “My opinion is Mamang at her age, I don’t want to push her. It’s incredible that she can produce. Look at her string of children, they’re amazing people. But I don’t want to jeopardize anything. If she’s down for it, we can definitely make it happen and I hope it does. But it’s not like guaranteed. It’s not a forced issue because it’s a different game. We’re not spring chickens (laughs),” he said.
