It’s still July, but plans for the upcoming Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is well underway. Coco Martin confirmed that he is working on a movie with Vic Sotto for the said festival.

He admitted to being apprehensive at first since he wasn’t sure if Vic would be open to working with him. Thankfully, things worked out and the movie will be directed by Mike Tuviera.

For Coco, MMFF is all about the Filipino audience. “‘Yung award, bonus ‘yun e.

The actor added that at the core of it all, it’s about giving Filipinos worthwhile entertainment and value for their money.

When asked if there's any awkwardness working with someone from the other network, Coco replied, “Hindi ko naman ikinakaila na nanggaling din ako sa kabilang network, nagsimula din ako doon. Walang problema.”

In fact, one of Coco’s dream projects is to work with Maine Mendoza, another artist outside ABS-CBN. However, there are no talks just yet, though.

Coco believes that competition is a thing of the past. Instead, people should be looking towards working together to achieve a better product. I think doon na tayo papunta. Ang importante naman pagandahin ang bawat proyekto.”
