Apparently, it contained some of the very first pandesals the survivors tasted after typhoon Yolanda hit.
Queen Mother Karla Estrada truly knows how to share her blessings as it was recently revealed that she sent out two buses full of relief goods to Yolanda victims when the supertyphoon hit her hometown over four years ago - a good act of deed she never mentioned or bragged on television.
According to Tacloban City Vice Mayor Jerry Yaokasin whom Karla was able to share lunch with at a restaurant in the capital of Leyte when she came home for the fiesta celebration last week, the buses filled with relief items made a mark in the hearts and minds of the survivors as included in them are the very first pandesals they tasted since the devastating super typhoon hit their city.
"The grateful recipients would later recall that they were craving for their favorite Filipino bread roll after days of ‘noodles, rice & sardines’ and those were the very first ‘pandesals’ they ever tasted after the typhoon. In other words, the ‘pandesals’ were truly heaven-sent," Yaokasin wrote in a Facebook post.
