Toffee and Kenny Santos talk about joining the army after PBB

It’s been more than eight years since they became part of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up edition (which was won by Melai Cantiveros in 2010), but twins Toffee and Kenny Santos are still in touch with their former housemates. “Sila Melai siguro last year pero yung ibang housemates nakakasama namin siguro every month kumakain, ganun. Hindi boring yung bahay pag andiyan si Melai,” Kenny share during the Bell Films media launch for Kontradiksyon.

The twins admitted they have both changed a lot since their PBB stint. “Madami kaming natutunan kakapanuod nung PBB. Kenny said he matured after the reality show.

After their forced eviction from the PBB house, the twins said they decided to enlist in the Philippine Army where they were assigned to different barracks to avoid confusion. “Kinuha kami dun as player pero meron kasing liga na kailangan enlisted yung players so in-enlist nila kami. Nag-tuloy tuloy na. Naging sundalo na talaga. Ngayon, dumu-duty na rin kami. May hawak kaming armalite. Ngayon nasa Philippine Army na, sundalo kami ngayon. At saka tinuloy namin yung basketball career namin. Na-hire kami mag-baskteball ng Philippine Army. Nag-du-duty rin kami. Very disciplined kami pag nasa kampo kami. Parang de-numero ang mga kilos namin so sundalo talaga,” Toffee shared.

Apart from playing basketball for the army, the twins will also be joining the Star Magic All Star Games in August as part of Daniel Padilla’s Red team. Every Sunday naglalaro kami sa PBB court nila Daniel,” Kenny said.

The twins are also part of the cast of the upcoming Bell Films relaunch project Kontradiksyon which also stars Jake Cuenca and Kris Bernal. Parang ngayon, kasi dini-divide naman namin yung time namin. Meron kaming time for our work tapos showbiz din kasi passion din namin eh,” Kenny said.

Apart from drama, the twins said they both enjoy doing action now. “Dati gusto namin drama kasi parang nakaka-relate kami. Pareho kaming heartbroken dati eh. Ngayon gusto naman namin action kasi parati kaming nagsusuntukan eh (laughs). Gusto namin malabas yung emotions namin through action. Sabi ni direk palagi kaming nagsusuntukan so why not get paid for it? Dito ilalabas namin yung action moves namin. Protector kami ng drug lord dito so madami kaming fight scenes.
