“Even after you pass on the crown, there’s still that responsibility to look good all the time and to take care of yourself,” shared Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
Radiant as ever, she manages to keep up with the demands of being an actress, host, and model. It seems impossible to imagine, but there was a time that she wasn’t as confident as she is now. “When I was a teenager and then in my early 20s, I did have a lot of insecurities. Normal lang naman ‘yun, especially since I was still learning more about myself.” Pia admitted that some of those insecurities still linger. “I can say that I still have insecurities up to now. Even though we’re beauty queens, meron pa din mga bagay na hindi pa din kami totally 100% happy with with ourselves, things we have to improve on.”
In an event held at the Bonifacio hall of Shangri-la BGC, Pia shared her #BeYoutifulStory when she joined Charo Santos-Concio as one of the new brand ambassadors of #UltherapyPH. Because the non-invasive lift has no downtime, Pia is able to be refreshed and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
Is it worth it to invest in Ultherapy even at such a young age? “Definitely! I’m 28 now, and I’ve learned that it’s really so important because this is your body. This is you. What’s a better investment than to improve yourself and make yourself happy?”
Admittedly, there was a time when she felt invincible. “Dati, iniisip ko na I don’t need this yet. Then I realized that I do. It doesn’t hurt to improve ourselves and take preventive measures. As I get older, I realize that if I want to look good and feel good, kasama doon ang pag-iinvest at pag-aalaga sa sarili. Kasama na doon ang skin care and skin treatments.”
Of course, looking good is no substitute for being beautiful on the inside. “You can be the most beautiful and have the most expensive products on your face, but if people are not drawn to your personality or your heart, sayang. Wouldn’t it be nice when people see someone beautiful, then learn that there’s even more to that?”
Working towards a beautiful and healthy body is not just skin deep; it actually has effects on your whole being as well. “Kung masaya ka, parang magnet ‘yan na people are drawn to you.” Queen P stood by the belief that taking care of one’s self is a worthwhile endeavor.
“I changed my diet and my workout recently. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. There’s really no shortcut,” she said. “When they say that the key to looking good and feeling good is proper diet and exercise, I used to think na front lang ‘yan kasi ayaw nilang sabihin ‘yung totoong sikreto nila. But it’s true. I wish there was a shortcut, kasi gusto ko din naman kumain ng kumain ng kung ano-ano, at nakakatamad mag-gym, but if you get in the rhythm of taking care of yourself, it’s a love that gives back.
“You feel good when you wake up in the morning. Mas ganado ka magtrabaho. Mas mabilis ka mag-isip. You look better, your skin looks better,” All these positive vibes can be traced back to loving one’s self, both inside and out. “You’ll realize that it’s because of what you’ve invested in yourself. I did, and now I’m reaping the benefits.”
