Anne Curtis' new movie had its world premier at the New York Asian Film Festival.
The Anne Curtis-starrer action movie BuyBust had its world premier at the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) this month and international critics have been raving about it.
In a movie review published by Variety, the publication lauded the execution and the direction of the movie. "Director and co-writer Erik Matti has delivered an explosive exercise in kinetic cinema that also offers potent commentary on the devastating social consequences of the Philippine government’s war on drugs," Variety wrote.
The international publication was also all praises for Anne's performance in the film. "Dual Australian-Filipino national Curtis is convincing and charismatic as the determined and amazingly resourceful heroine. Performances from the rest of a huge cast are spot-on, right down to bit parts." .
Meanwhile, Screen Daily described BuyBust as "both brazenly cynical and brilliantly executed."
Screen Daily added, "[Anne] Curtis anchors the mayhem with great charisma, forming a terrific partnership with the stoic [Brandon] Vera, whose towering frame and tank-like indestructability are offset by a resolutely calm manner."
After its world premier at the NYAFF, BuyBust will be heading to the "2018 Bucheon Interntional Fantastic Film Festival." It will premier in the Philippines on August 1.
