Gerald Anderson on playing basketball against Daniel Padilla: ‘Gusto ko manalo’

As he prepares to lead Team Blue in the upcoming Star Magic All-Star Games this coming August 19, Gerald Anderson said he is excited to get back into the game after sustaining an injury recently during practice with the Marikina team for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. “Iba talaga. I’m excited. Sobrang thankful ako sa opportunity and sa physical abilities na binigay sa akin,” he shared during the Skechers Performance Run 2018 launch held last July 12 in Quezon City.

As he defends the title against Team Red led by Daniel Padilla, Gerald shared his simple goal. “Manalo (laughs). Ganun ka-simple. But at the end of the day gusto mo lahat manalo. Wala namang controversies. At the end of the day, maging grateful na lang kami,” he explained.

After the much publicized scuffle on the court between Gilas Pilipinas and Australia, the Skechers celebrity ambassador shared his thoughts on what he thinks about athletes being too physical during games. “Honestly, maganda pag physical yung game. Maganda yung mga huling laro namin dahil walang gustong magpatalo eh. Kaya siya naging interesting. Kaya natin pinag-uusapan. That’s what makes it interesting,” he said.
