Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray talks about how hard it is for her to be away from her family

In a recent episode of Magandang Buhay, Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray shared with Momshies Karla Estrada and Melai Cantiveros that she misses her mom and dad who are in Australia.

“I didn’t get to spend that much time with him (dad). It was always me and my mom. So now that he’s retired and to find myself in a country away from him, it’s really sad. It really makes me frustrated sometimes because I know how much they miss me and I miss them,” Catriona said, expressing how she longs for her parents’ company.

The 24-year old Miss Universe Philippines also expressed her worries about her dad. “There’s always that thought in my mind, what if something happened to him? And then, I didn’t spend time with him e.” She added, “Yung whole journey of becoming an adult, minsan you want to feel like a child again kasi it’s all overwhelming, and daming responsibilities. I wish my mom could come or my dad could give me advice.”

In the same episode, Catriona’s best friend and mentor Miss Grand International Philippines 2016 Nicole Cordoves shared how this year’s Miss Universe could be exciting because of Catriona. “Siya lang yung girl na lumapit sa akin para magpatulong. Or makipag-usap lang talaga about social issues and topics…” Nicole said.

Preparing for the Miss Universe 2018, Catriona said she loves focusing on her walk or the Pasarela. She gave tips on how she practices it. “Yung major important aspects sa mga catwalk is really posture, and then face, and then hips… Parang when you walk, you’re giving an aura.”
