Miss Q & A runner up Elsa Droga shares his struggles growing up gay

Miss Q and A runner up Elsa Droga revealed to Magandang Buhay hosts Karla Estrada and Melai Cantiveros his the challenges he faced growing up gay .

Raised in Tondo, Manila Elsa found it hard to express his true identity, because of fear of denial and bullying from friends. He also shared how he defended himself from bullies.

Elsa also did not graduate from high school because he feared the moments when schoolmates ask him about his real identity.

But Elsa didn’t lose hope and later pursued his education. When he learned about the Alternative Learning System, she enrolled herself despite her age gap with her classmates.

Elsa also introduced his mom, Lily who designs and creates her gowns for competitions. According to Mommy Lily, she’s thankful for Elsa’s efforts in supporting the family through her passion in joining beauty pageants. “Hindi po ako naghahangad na mag-reigning or mag-first siya. Ang sa akin lang, makita ng tao kung sino siya,” she said.
