As an actress and singer, Julie Anne San Jose said it is important for her to still be able to write songs which is why she is excited for people to hear her newest single under Universal Records. “It’s very important of course na mgasulat ng mga bagong kanta. It’s such a great feeling din kapag may na-accomplish ka na isang bagay. Parang at the end of the day, ‘Wow naisulat ko ito’ and stuff like that. And then kapag narinig mo na yung final output, pag may mga arrangements, pagka kumpleto na with the melody, the perfect lyrics atsaka the perfect arrangement, yun talaga yung parang pinaka importante na bagay para magkaroon ka ng isang kanta. And of course pagka sinulat mo yung kanta, parang sobrang special din for you kasi galing talaga sa puso mo. Atsaka pagod at hjirap din,” she shared.

One of her compositions entitled “Tayong Dalawa” was just recently released as a single. “I wrote two songs. ‘Tayong Dalawa’ and the other one is English. How is it different from the other songs that I wrote? Actually wala naman masyadong pagkakaiba except for the arrangements kasi iba iba yung mga elements niya. Before kasi medyo pop and ballad and country yung tunog, ngayon medyo R&B and contemporary. So I’m very, very excited din na marinig ng mga tao. And it’s also a new genre na tinry ko. I’m really, really grateful and blessed. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nag-abang sa second single ko called ‘Tayong Dalawa’. I’m really thankful,” she said.

Julie Anne admitted she can write better when she is more inspired. “Kasi parang mas madaling magsulat ng kanta kapag nasa peak ka ng emotions mo. Whether you’re super sad or super happy or like super angry. Minsan kasi kapag nagsusulat ako ng kanta hindi ko natatapos or natatapos ko siya agad. Either of the two. But recently nung nagsulat ako ng kanta okay naman siya, words were flowing. As long as may accompaniment, may piano or may guitar,” she said.

Out of all the artists in the country, Julie Anne said she has always wanted to work with two OPM icons. “I really want to collaborate with Ms. Lea Salonga and tito Gary Valenciano. Sobrang nakaka-inspire lang talaga yung mga songs nila. Not only their songs but as a person, as an individual. Sobrang nakaka-inspire talaga atsaka marami talaga silang wisdom,” she admitted. The 24-year-old performer said she is also a fan of talented young rapper Shanti Dope.

With her current career status, Julie said she still has a lot of goals left to pursue. “Of course sobrang happy and marami pa akong gustong i-explore, marami pa akong gustong gawin so I think na yung success na yun, actually lahat naman tayo nagkakaroon ng success sa iba’t ibang bagay, sa iba’t ibang paraan. So for me it’s more of accomplishments and achievements. So I think para makamit mo yung success in life you have to be happy,” she added.
