The Kapamilya star has bravely spoken up about the importance of mental health awareness.
Teen star Ylona Garcia reminded her fans how important it is to take care of one's mental health in this time and age after being brought to the hospital because of stress which resulted from "distasteful and unnecessary words" that she came across on social media.
The 16-year-old Kapamilya star, who is among the many celebrities who are now bravely sharing about the state of their mental health, spoke up in behalf of everyone else who is struggling to cope up with the effects of emotional pain.
"Wishing and praying we could all be spreading love more than hate on social media, because people that get bashed/disrespected on social media can only stay strong for so long and can be so close to breaking down. As much as I'd like to keep things private, I want everyone to be aware of their mental health," she said, hoping people will finally put an end to propagating hate on social media.
"Woke up this morning scrolling through social media to see such distasteful and unnecessary words being shared. I have to be honest, it really stressed me out and I spent hours trying to find ways to make sure everyone would be happy and okay, to the fact where I forgot to take care of myself. To the point where I ended up in the hospital," she continued, explaining her condition.
Ylona concluded her post by saying she decided to share the post to create awareness as to how important it is to take care of one's mental health.
"I'm sharing this with you now to create awareness. #PleaseSpreadLove," she stated, closing her lengthy post.
The teen actress is currently part of the ABS-CBN morning serye "Sana Dalawa Ang Puso." She is also celebrating her third year in showbiz.
