Luis Manzano says that Phuket is like a second home to them already.
After heading back to Thailand earlier this year, Luis Manzano said he and girlfriend Jessy Mendiola can’t get enough of the country, especially the island of Phuket. “We fell in love with Phuket to be more precise. Kasi one is kumbaga we’re the Philippine ambassadors of Tiger Muay Thai. Tapos we train there. So it’s like our second home pag andun kami. And secondly, nagustuhan namin yung nakakalakad lang kami sa kalye. Kasi we’re very beach people. We’re always by the sea. So nagugustuhan namin yung nakakalakad lang kami, na kahit papaano we have our alone time. So that’s why we fell in love with the country,” he shared during the Fox Plus Philippines event held in Taguig City.
As a Muay Thai athlete, Luis said it was perfect that he and Jessy get to train there. “It was surprising kasi pumunta lang kami dun for vacation. Wala lang. Gusto lang namin yung medyo tahimik lang. After that first day and we met with the Tiger Muay Thai people at nung may mga kaibigan na kami dun because of the Tiger Muay Thai gym nga, so mas na-enjoy na namin what the city has to offer,” he explained. Luis said his next wish is to be able to compete someday.
Now that they enjoy visiting Phuket more, Luis revealed that he and Jessy are considering getting a place there. “We’re talking about it. Actually yes pinag-uusapan namin na bumili na nga ng property dun. Hopefully soon. Habang okay pa ang ibang mga presyo,” he shared.
Even though he has always been open about talking not being afraid to settle down in the future, Luis said buying property abroad should not be taken as the biggest sign that he and Jessy are serious about their relationship. “I think there are even more clearer signs besides yung pag-alis namin ng bansa. Siguro it’s more of the time we spend pag wala kaming trabaho and almost everyday,” he said. Luis admitted both his parents are already excited to have grandchildren. “Sobra. Sabi nga nila mas excited pa sila sa apo. Yun yung talagang kinukulit na nila kami, sa apo.”
