Actor and Quezon City councilor Roderick Paulate has been charged with graft and falsification by the Ombudsman on Wednesday, April 25, for allegedly hiring ghost employees in 2010.
He is facing one count of graft, one count of falsification by a public officer, and eight counts of falsification of public documents.
Roderick and his driver Vicente Bajamunde allegedly falsified the July payroll to make it appear several employees received their pay.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the Ombudsman said that the two have dues to the Quezon City government amounting to P1,109,000 from August to November of 2010.
The Ombudsman recommended a total bail bond of P246,000 for Roderick and a total of P30,000 for Vicente.
