Ever since clips of 17-year-old Zhavia from the hit American reality singing search The Four went viral online, netizens have been dubbing KZ as the Zhavia of the Philippines. But what does the Soul Supreme have to say about all these comparisons between them?
Kaya siguro same aura kasi ‘di ba medyo awkward din si Zhavia magperform so baka ‘yun. So kung papakinggan mo ‘di kami magkalapit ng style,” she said in an interview with PUSH.
Though the two artists have similarities in terms of musicality and style, KZ said that there is no need for people to compare the two of them as she believes "Zhavia is her own artist."
Oy kinanta din niya’ pero Zhavia is her own artist. And for a 17-year-old to sound that good, imagine her ‘pag naging 20 years old na siya, 25,” she said.
KZ emerged the top contender in last week's episode of China's biggest singing competition Singer 2018.
This Friday, she is set to appear in a new episode of Singer 2018 with a promise to do something she's never done before on stage.
