Before his mom passed away earlier this year due to cancer, Marlo Mortel had already started working on his Metro Mania Film Festival entry One Great Love. “Honored ako to be part of this cast.

The talented actor said that he considers his mom Merlie to be the one great love in his life. “Sa totoo lang, wala talaga pero kino-consider ko talaga yung mommy ko yung one great love ko kasi even bago siya mamatay, before ako magpunta sa shooting nitong movie na ito, kahit hindi na siya nakakagalaw nagsulat pa siya ng thank you for everything. So talagang up to the moment that she passed away, nag-try pa rin siya magsulat kahit manas na yung buong katawan niya and hindi na siya talaga nakakagalaw. The day before sabi niya, ‘Pahinga ka na. Magpapahinga na ako.’ Dun pinapakita nung mother kung gaano niya kamahal yung anak niya, pinagbibigyan pa rin niya up to the last breath. Pinipilit niya everything just for me, up to her last day talagang binibigay niya lahat so for me that is the true essence of a one great love,” he explained.

Marlo said that he enjoyed working on the Regal Films MMFF entry along with his co-stars Kim Chiu, Denniis Trillo, JC De Vera, and Miles Ocampo. I think that’s what she is, bubbly, mabait. First time namin magiging partners on screen ni Miles and bahala na kung kagatin ng tao pero of course magaling talaga si Miles na artista and binigay naman namin yung best namin so thank you Regal and thank you Mother Lily,” he said.
