Congratulations to our Princess of All Media for this new international recognition!
Anne Curtis is among this year’s up and coming Asian stars of Variety Magazine and International Film Festival & Awards-Macao (IFFAM).
The Princess of All Media was presented the international recognition “Asian Stars: Up Next of 2018” in Macao, China last Friday, alongside Asian big names Zheng Kai of China, Iqbaal Ramadhan of Indonesia, Xana Tang of New Zealand, and Zaira Wasim of India.
In a heartfelt Instagram post last Saturday, Anne expressed her deepest gratitude for having snagged the award and once again representing her country in a global audience.
“Still not over it. Thank you again, [Variety] Asia for the recognition as one of the Asian Stars: Up Next of 2018. This will continue to inspire me to do my best in my chosen craft, pursue my biggest dreams and hopefully inspire others to do so, too.
“As I said in my short speech, I dedicate this to all the Filipino filmmakers and actors who continue to work hard to make films that are not only appreciated by our fellow Pinoyw but also appreciated by the global audience. Philippines respresent!,” wrote the 33-year-old celebrity.
Prior to IFFAM 2018, Anne was already making names in the international sphere mainly for her latest film, BuyBust, which saw its world premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival in July, ahead of its release in the Philippines.
Incidentally, it was also Variety that gave the movie their two thumbs up in their in-deph film review.
“Director and co-write Erik Matti has delivered an explosive exercise in kinetic cinema that also offers potent commentary on the devastating social consequences of the Philippine government’s war on drugs,” reads an excerpt of their piece.

Aside from New York, the team also visited Bucheon in Korea as part of the lineup of the 2018 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
On December 25, Anne is set to hit local cinemas once more for the thriller-horror flick, Aurora, as one of the official entries of the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival.
