Sue Ramirez, who was in South Korea for almost a month filming Sunshine Family (the upcoming adaptation of the 1992 Japanese movie Hikinige Family), shared how it was like working with one of the members of K-Pop group BLANC7, Shinwoo.

“He’s very funny. And he’s very smart. Very musically-inclined siya. Tinuturuan namin siya mag-Tagalog. Nakakapick-up siya agad. And I’m excited na makita ng mga tao ‘yung pinagtrabuhan namin,” she said during an exclusive interview with PUSH at the rehearsals for the 2018 ABS-CBN Christmas Concert.

Apart from working on the film, Sue also revealed that she and Shinwoo collaborated on a song which is set to be simultaneously released with the movie as part of its official soundtrack.

“Actually, we recorded a song in Korea together. Excited rin ako na marinig nila ‘yun. It’s going to be out with the movie. I think ilalabas as a Mother’s Day special ng Spring Films. So May,” she stated.

As one of the attendees of BLACKPINK’s Day 2 concert in South Korea, Sue shared her overall experience watching the show of one of the biggest K-Pop girl groups today.

Nag-BLACKPINK ako. Ang cute-cute nila. Actually, kilala ko ang BLACKPINK. And very iconic sila. I think they’re really, really pretty and very, very talented talaga. Pero hindi ako ganun ka-fan. Pero free day ko so ‘yung mga kasama ko manonood so sige na nga, manonood na din ako. Paglabas ko, every time na naliligo, BLACKPINK na talaga ‘yung pinakikinggan ko. As in aliw na aliw ako sa kanila. Ang galing galing nila mag-perform live. And excited ako na mapanood ng mga Pinoy dahil on the way na sila dito sa Pilipinas sa February so ang saya-saya. Masaya,” she said.

Sue Ramirez also defended one of its members, Jennie, who was recently caught up in a controversy for allegedly being lazy onstage during the same show that Sue attended.

“Actually feeling ko she wasn’t feeling very well that day kasi she cried eh. Umiyak siya eh nung huli na nung concert. Umiyak siya sa stage. Tapos di ko alam—di ko naman napansin,” she said.

Di ko alam kung na-overwhelm ba siya, masaya ba siya o may pinagdadaanan siya at napasaya siya ng mga taong nanood. Pero umiyak siya that day, she added.

Sue also took the time to share which other K-Pop groups she listens to apart from BLACKPINK. It turns out, she’s a fan of one of the OG K-Pop girl groups, 2NE1.

“Favorite ko kasi ‘yung mga nagtayo talaga ng K-Pop sa buong mundoang 2NE1. So hanggang ngayon, may 2NE1 fever pa rin ako. Actually, sikat na sikat din sa Korea ang TWICE. Of course, BTS nandiyan din, Taeyang,” she said.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to hold their first show in Manila on February 2, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
