EXCLUSIVE: Teejay Marquez shares his experience being part of Meteor Garden in Indonesia

<p>Currently back in the country for the holidays, model-actor Teejay Marquez said he is also looking forward to representing the country in<em> Blue Ant Extreme’s Spartan Race</em> challenge happening next month in Malaysia. The talented actor has been undergoing rigorous training for the past few weeks to prepare himself for his very first obstacle course experience. </p><p>“<em>Kaya ko din tinanggap na rin kasi habang andito ako meron akong </em>campaign <em>na nagawa</em>. <em>Libreng</em> workout <em>tapos</em> I’ll be going<em> din</em> to Malaysia to race so <em>sabi ko gusto ko</em>. <em>Sabi ko din kasi </em>once I get back <em>sa</em> Pilipinas <em>mag-ji-gym ako</em>. <em>Dito may</em> trainer<em> ako</em>. <em>Para at</em> least <em>makikita nila na may</em> progress <em>na ako. Lahat kami dito</em> beginner. The challenge is to do the beginner’s run. <em>May</em> actors, <em>may</em> dj, <em>may</em> influencers," he shared to PUSH. </p><p>"<em>Dati naiinggit ako pag nakakakita ako ng</em> other celebrities <em>na nag-te-train talaga na </em>beast mode<em> talaga sila</em>. At least feeling <em>ko ma-i-inspire ko silang manunuod. Kasi </em>for the past few years,<em> parang hindi ako masyadong na-push ng ganito. Alam ko na yung</em> everyday <em>ko, alam ko kung hanggang saan lang yung gusto ko ilabas na kakayahan</em>. <em>Pero dito parang nagugulat ako na parang yung mga tinatago kong lakas naglalabasan</em>,” he said. </p><p>Having been based abroad for the past year as part of the Indonesian version of<em> Meteor Garden </em>called Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta, Teejay admitted he is still learning how to master speaking Bahasa. </p><p>“<em>Para akong</em> Ryan Bang <em>dun</em>. <em>Diretso na ako magsalita pero yung</em> accent they find it funny <em>kaya parang kahit anong sabihin ko natatawa sila</em>. Comedian<em> ba ako</em>? <em>Sige na nga</em> (laughs). <em>Dun naman sa</em> lessons<em> ko sa </em>Indonesia, <em>nung</em> first month <em>ko nag-te-training ako</em> with a tutor tapos every day<em> kami </em>one on one.<em> Pero nung nagsimula na yung teleserye meron na akong</em> private teacher<em> sa</em> set <em>na tinuturo niya sa akin yung</em> script<em> para kabisaduhin ko yung</em> script and<em> in-explain niya yung situation</em>, explain niya yung feelings and then<em> bahala na ako kung paano ko gagawin</em>. So <em>nag-work naman siya </em>all throughout<em>. font-size:14px; line-height:17px;'>Oct 22, 2018 at 11:05pm PDT</time></p></div></blockquote><script async src='~//www.instagram.com/embed.js' type='text/javascript'></script><p> </p><p>When he first got the part, Teejay said his previous work experience in Indonesia was an advantage. </p><p>“<em>Kasi</em> since before <em>nakagawa ako ng </em>chance <em>na makagawa ng pelikula dun</em>.<em> Yung </em>TV network <em>naghahanap ng F4</em> <em>nga daw na bagong mukha tapos malakas yung </em>arrive <em>siguro</em> and then s<em>akto yung </em>management <em>ko</em> pinitch <em>ako</em> since <em>nakatrabaho ko na sa</em> movie<em> yung bida si </em>Dao Ming Si.<em> Sabi nung bida </em>he wanted to for the role and since may following <em>na rin</em> and<em> isa rin ako sa bagong mukha sa teleserye </em>so <em>nag-agree sila</em>,” he explained. </p><p>In the series, Teejay plays the role of Sean (the counterpart of Ken Zhu in the original <em>Meteor Garden</em>). “<em>Nanunood naman ako nung</em> show <em>nung</em> time <em>nina </em>Sancai <em>pa </em>so I had this idea of the story and sobrang excited <em>ako nung nalaman ko yun kasi </em>big deal <em>dito sa atin yun</em>. <em>Parang ang gumagawa nun </em>the most popular actors so thankful a<em>gad ako na na-offer yun</em>. <em>Nung nagsimula na mag-promo, gumawa na ako ng </em>looktest, <em>dun na nag-sink in na iba itong</em> project<em> ko ngayon</em>, I knew it was going to be big <em>kasi mga</em> high end <em>yung mga kasama ko</em>. It finished this October <em>kasi</em> eight <em>months na yun</em>,” he stated. </p>

It finished this October <em>kasi</em> eight <em>months na yun</em>,” he stated. 

<p>Currently back in the country for the holidays, model-actor Teejay Marquez said he is also looking forward to representing the country in<em> Blue Ant Extreme’s Spartan Race</em> challenge happening next month in Malaysia. The talented actor has been undergoing rigorous training for the past few weeks to prepare himself for his very first obstacle course experience. <p>“<em>Kaya ko din tinanggap na rin kasi habang andito ako meron akong </em>campaign <em>na nagawa</em>. <em>Libreng</em> workout <em>tapos</em> I’ll be going<em> din</em> to Malaysia to race so <em>sabi ko gusto ko</em>. <em>Sabi ko din kasi </em>once I get back <em>sa</em> Pilipinas <em>mag-ji-gym ako</em>. <em>Dito may</em> trainer<em> ako</em>. <em>Para at</em> least <em>makikita nila na may</em> progress <em>na ako. Lahat kami dito</em> beginner. The challenge is to do the beginner’s run. <em>May</em> actors, <em>may</em> dj, <em>may</em> influencers," he shared to PUSH. <p>"<em>Dati naiinggit ako pag nakakakita ako ng</em> other celebrities <em>na nag-te-train talaga na </em>beast mode<em> talaga sila</em>. So <em>sabi ko gusto ko ng ganung klaseng</em> adrenaline, focus, and determination. So <em>nung in-offer yung</em> Xtreme Quest <em>sabi ko ito na yung</em> chance <em>ko para ma-channel ko lahat ng gusto ko gawin</em>. So <em>nag-yes na ako</em>,” he added.

Teejay shares it was a big challenge for him to learn another language.
