“I hope you’re finally free from the pain and the sadness and just like the girl in this photo, truly happy,” said the “Ngayon at Kailanman” star.
Over a week after she honored her late father’s death anniversary, Iza Calzado once again turned to Instagram to pay tribute, this time, to her mother, who has passed away 17 years ago.
“Mama, 17 years ago I lost you. From that day on, I have felt your energy guiding me through life and helping me achieve the dreams you had for me and for yourself. I am now living the life you always wanted, Mama. How bittersweet that I have everything you always wanted for us but not have you by my side to share this with me,” wrote the “Ngayon at Kailanman” star, who is set to tie the knot with her fiancé, British entrepreneur Ben Wintle.
Iza proceeded to say her deepest wishes for her mother, Mary Ann. “I hope you’re finally free from the pain and the sadness and just like the girl in this photo, truly happy. You will always be in my heart and in my mind. Love you.”
The 36-year-old star, who has revealed that her mother suffered from depression and bipolar disorder prior, said that losing her was “definitely the game changer for me”. “Like I said, it was a big wake-up call. My life was pretty much a mess before I lost my mom. I’d like to think I’ve come a long way from that messed-up, lost girl,” shared Iza in an interview with Philstar.
