Karla Estrada’s sons Daniel and Carlito Padilla will have special performances at their mother’s birthday concert.
November 21 is a special day for Karla Estrada not just because it is her 44th birthday but also because she will finally have her first ever digital concert I am 'Karla Estrada, The Music Within which will be streamed live on OneMusic.PH. The Magandang Buhay host is proud of having personally chosen all the songs she will be performing. “Digital tayo so automatically all over the world mapapanuod ng kung sino ang makakapag-subscribe sa araw na yan or ng oras na yan and then dito mas ma-sho-showcase yung music ko na kinalakihan ko at kasama ko sa journey. So may kanya-kanyang kuwento and choice ko lahat ng kanta na nandito so yun talaga yung pagkatao ko kung ano yung maririnig niyo dito,” she shared.
Trimming down the songs from 40 different choices to a select list, Karla sadi she will cover a lot of musical genres in the live show. “May ‘80s, meron tayong ‘70s hanggang sa pinaka-recent meron tayo na mga artists. Panuorin na lang nila para surprise di ba? So medyo i-ke-cater natin almost lahat ng genres. Pero more on old music tayo kasi hindi naman ako na-stuck dun pero for me yun pa rin yung masarap pakinggan,” she said.
Aside from some surprise musical guests, the show will also feature her two sons. “So si Carlito Padilla yung pangalawa kong anak, siyempre si Daniel Padilla, si Tutti Caringal na isa sa matatalik kong kaibigan from Your Face Sounds Familiar and then si Nyoy Volante. Yun lang yung alam ko,” she explained.
Although she still dreams of being able to do a duet with international rock star Jon Bon Jovi, Karla said it is enough that she is still one of his biggest fans in the country. “Si Bon Jovi pa rin talaga (laughs). Hindi naman siya rocker na talagang hardcore, matalino lang talaga yung pagsusulat niya ng kanta. Bon Jovi pa rin,” she admitted.
Karla also said that if there was a song about her life, it would be one of her favorite classics. “Ngayong estado ng buhay ko, naku ang dami kong kanta wala akong maisip (laughs). I think in love pa rin ako sa ‘Natural Woman’ ni Aretha Franklin,” she added.
