Kris Aquino speaks up on her recent controversy anew: 'I do not keep quiet when attacked'

<p>In the midst of the recent controversy surrounding her name, Kris Aquino deemed it necessary to expound on her reasons in refusing to stay silent on her battle against former business associate Nicko Falcis, whom she reported of 44 counts of qualified theft earlier this month. </p><p>The lengthy post, which she shared on Instagram last Saturday, started with an apology to those she has let down for her actions recently. “I am sorry that I do not fit the ‘mold’ of what most people have come to admire in my family. I am not simple. I do not keep quiet when attacked. I am not private. And I don’t play down what I’ve achieve because I have had to be fierce in order to survive. I also do not subscribe to the belief that people should be allowed to just tell their lies since eventually the truth comes out anyway, because in my opinion, we are only sure of now,” wrote the Queen of All Media.</p><p>Given her status, Kris has over the years come to embrace the consequences that followed, and that is the lukewarm reception from those who do not approve of her. Nevertheless, it is her truth that keeps her going. “I have heard all the insults but the one thing that has never stuck is that Kris Aquino is a liar. A drama queen, possible. But definitely not a lying queen and never magnanakaw queen,” said the actress.</p><p>With regards to her dear departed parents, Kris said with pride that to persist is one of the many values she has learned from them. “I was brought up to respect the rule of law, my father gave his life for that principle. And I am also my mother’s daughter, so I shall be exercising my constitutional right to defend my dignity and honor.
