After an unsuccessful attempt to secure a US Visa, Maria Laroco was forced to perform from the UK via live stream.
Just a week after getting into X Factor UK’s Final 6 Girls’ category, 17-year-old Pinay singer Maria Laroco bid goodbye to the competition after her attempt to secure a US Visa for the Judges’ House showcase fails.
Having belted out Mama’s and Papa’s "California Dreamin’" from a studio in London via live stream, Maria Laroco impressed Simon Cowell and his fifty celebrity friends who watched her performance on a flat screen TV outside his home in Malibu.
“Hey Simon, thank you so much for the opportunity that you've given me. I don't want this to be my last performance. I want to be part of the live shows. Please, please, please, Simon, pick me,” Maria Laroco said before proceeding with her performance.
"I feel really bad for her because she would have thrived in this atmosphere," Simon Cowell stated after Maria sang in front of his friends.
“It’s a whole different thing,” singer Paula Abdul said of her act.

But unfortunately, she received an unexpected call from Simon Cowell, telling her that she did not make it to the next round of the competition.
“Well, the fact that you’ve got this far is a real achievement. You are a brilliant, brilliant singer and a great person. I’m just gonna tell you, Maria, you didn’t make it,” he said.
“I hate to tell you this in this manner. When you watch the show, you’ll understand how difficult this decision have been for me. And I have to say this, you have to come back again. Promise me you’ll come back,” he added.
Apart from Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest, Paul Anka, Leona Lewis, and Adam Lambert were also among those who witnessed Maria Laroco and the rest of the girls’ performances.
Meanwhile, Bella Penfold, Scarlett Lee, Molly Scott, and Shan Smith still remain in the competition.
In 2014, Maria Laroco also joined the local edition of The Voice Kids.
