It’s been almost two years since she started being under the limelight, not because she is the only daughter of OPM singers Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragozna, but because Jayda Avanzado was already making heads turn with her powerful voice. After attending her first ABS-CBN Ball in a beautiful purple Oliver Tolentino gown, Jayda feels happy to have such a supportive family. “They’re very supportive and I’m very blessed to have parents like them who support me in what I’m passionate about which is music,” she told PUSH.
At 15 years old, Jayda admitted that she is more focused on music more than anything else. “Oh I don’t know but really I’m focused on my career right now. Sa ngayon hindi ko pa iniisip yun (lovelife) kasi bata pa ako and I’m really just focused on doing what I love which is music,” she shared.
After signing up as a Cornerstone talent this year, Jayda also revealed she has matured more as a performer. “I think I’ve learned to be more open-minded as an artist. Right now I’m just kind of focused on being authentic and true to myself. I think that’s something that I’ve always treasured, that kind of value. I’m just really focused on evolving more as an artist,” she said.
Jayda is happy with all the things going on in her career right now. “My EP 'In My Room' is out now on all digital music platforms and the music videos from my two singles 'Text' and 'Breathless' also out on Star Music’s YouTube channel and there will be two new performance videos for two of my songs, 'Coffee' and 'Happy for You' which will be out very soon,” she added.
With showbiz definitely in her genes, Jayda said she would consider getting into acting in the future. “Maybe. If the right opportunity came along maybe I’d consider it,” she remarked.
