Apart from playing the lead role in the musical, Sara Bareilles also takes pride in making Waitress a reality as she herself is the mind behind its lyrics and music.
Meanwhile, Filipino pride Joanna Ampil - who has played several roles in West End musicals such as Miss Saigon and Les Miserables - will lead the show and play Jenna.
Also joining Ampil are Bituin Escalante and Maronne Cruz who will play Becky and Dawn, respectively.
Waitress follows the story of Jenna, a pie maker who finds her way out of her cold marriage with the help of her friends Becky and Dawn.
Waitress is set to open on November 9, 2018 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza.
