For the first time ever, underground hip-hop artists from the local music scene get an avenue to showcase their talent to the world through OneMusicPH’s Fresh: Filipino Rappers Elevating The School Of Hip Hop digital concert.
Among the artists who will perform at the concert is hip-hop collective Ex-Battalion
While the group gained a huge following since successfully penetrating the mainstream scene, the group has also received negative reactions from netizens for their alleged use of “autotune” or voice enhancer and their music in general.
“Isa lang masasabi ko dun, hayaan mo sila,” said one of its members Marky Maglasang who goes by the name Bosx1ne, citing the title of their most viral hit song to date.
“Minsan naging daily na lang eh. Ultimo mag-post kami sa sarili naming [account], may nang-babash eh. What more pa sa music na ginagawa namin. So parang sa amin normal na siya eh," said another member James Brando.
"Dati nga ‘pag makapapa-hit ka ng kanta, struggle na. Hindi mo na iniintindi ‘yung bash. Ngayon pa kaya na ito na tayo. Hindi na lang siya pinapansin actually. Wala nang oras para dun eh,” he added.
Ex-B, who is known for their hits "Hayaan Mo Sila" and "Southboys" among others, promised fans that they can look forward to hearing new music from them at the show.
“Sa amin may mga fresh tracks na kakatanhin kami dito sa event. And also, ‘yung mga recent na hit namin ng Ex-Battalion,” he teased.
Also performing at the show are Al James, 727 Clique, and Third Flo with FlipTop legends Loonie and Ron Henley as special guests.
FRESH is happening on October 20 at the Ynares Center Antipolo.
